St. Mary's Cathedral, Windhoek
St. Marien Kathedrale, or St. Mary's Cathedral, serves as the heart of the Roman Catholic community in Windhoek, acting as the seat for the Archdiocese of Windhoek. Nestled on Karl-Werner Street at the city’s core, this place of worship conducts daily religious services, save for Monday evenings. Constructed between 1906 and 1908 using local materials, the cathedral showcases a blend of brickwork and Romanesque Revival architectural elements.
The exterior is marked by its porch, which is framed by three semicircular arches beneath an overarching structure and topped with a triple. Two quadrangular towers stand guard on either side, each rising through four levels before culminating in white-painted arrows that pierce the sky.
