Business Terms

Business Terms

Last updated: 25 October 2026

These terms apply to businesses and their representatives who claim or manage a profile on rev.africa. They supplement our Terms of Use.

All business features on rev.africa are currently free. Plans with extra visibility are not sold — the administration may grant them free of charge. You can request a plan from your business dashboard.

1. Claiming a profile

  • You may claim a profile only for a business you own or are authorised to represent.
  • We may ask for verification, for example an email at the business's domain, a phone call or documents showing your connection to the business.
  • Give accurate information: business name, address, website, contact details and, where relevant, your company registration number.

2. What you can do

  • Correct and update your business details, add a description, photos and opening hours.
  • Reply publicly to reviews, politely and factually.
  • Invite your customers to leave reviews — but invite all of them, not only satisfied ones.

3. What you must not do

  • Write or commission reviews of your own business, or offer incentives for positive reviews. Fake reviews and hidden incentivised reviews mislead consumers and are unlawful under consumer protection laws in many countries.
  • Write reviews about competitors.
  • Pressure or threaten reviewers, or publish their personal data.
  • Use the profile to publish misleading claims or content that breaks advertising rules.

4. Reviews about your business

We do not remove reviews because they are negative. You can report a review that you believe is fake, unlawful or breaks our guidelines; we will assess it under our Moderation Policy. If you believe a review is defamatory, tell us which statements are untrue and why; we will assess the statements, may ask the author for a response and will act where the content is unlawful.

5. Removing a profile

A business can object to its profile. Write to [email protected] from an address linked to the business. We may keep the profile hidden rather than deleted to prevent it being recreated.

6. Termination

We may suspend business accounts that break these terms, in particular for review manipulation.
