National Botanical Gardens (Uganda)

Entebbe Park

Nestled close to the shores of Lake Victoria, the National Botanical Gardens of Uganda, often referred to as the Botanical Gardens Entebbe, were established in 1898 by A Whyte. These expansive gardens encompass various zones, with a notable rainforest area that served as a filming location for scenes from Johnny Weissmuller's Tarzan films during the 1940s.

The gardens are home to an array of wildlife including hornbills and marabou storks among the avian species. Visitors can also observe black-and-white colobus monkeys in their natural habitat. Throughout the year, the gardens host a variety of events such as bird watching, biking tours, nature walks, and music festivals. Notably, the Milege World Music Festival takes place annually in November, featuring live performances, games, camping, and more.
