Government House, Orange Free State
Bloemfontein Museum
Designed in 1935, this Neo-Dutch style mansion was completed on Grant's Hill in 1941. It initially served as the residence for the Governor General of the Union of South Africa from 1942 until its official renaming to Oliewenhuis in 1972. The name reflects the plentiful wild olive trees surrounding the area. In 1985, the building transitioned into an art museum, offering a new cultural space for the city.
