Located along Stone Town's main seawalk, Forodhani Gardens, also known as Jubilee Gardens or Forodhani Park, is situated in front of iconic landmarks such as the House of Wonders and the Old Fort. The park transforms after sunset into a bustling hub where both locals and tourists converge for an evening meal at its popular food market, savouring traditional Swahili and Zanzibari dishes like grilled seafood, samoosas, cassava, and sweet potatoes.

In 2009, the Aga Khan oversaw significant renovations to the park, carried out by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture. The project aimed to improve pedestrian pathways, landscaping, lighting, drainage systems, and civic amenities, as well as rehabilitate the seawall adjacent to the park.
