Founded by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi as a Bible study group at the University of Lagos in 1973, Deeper Christian Life Ministry now operates internationally under its headquarters in Gbagada. By the early 1980s, the small group had expanded significantly and formally established itself as Deeper Life Bible Church. Today, it boasts over 65,000 members at its Lagos location, with a total membership of more than 800,000 in Nigeria alone. The church has spread to over 40 countries worldwide. Its beliefs centre around traditional Pentecostal teachings and include 22 core doctrines.
